Jodi Carmichael is a friend and the fabulous author of both Spaghetti is Not a Finger Food(and Other Life Lessons) and Forever Julia. After spending a couple years in Europe, she is back home and releasing her latest book, Family of Spies. Jodi and her publisher were looking for author photos so for this story set in Paris I suggested the cozy, soft, pastel setting of her cottage porch. And so we headed to the lake. It was a crisp sunny day in Autumn and the air was as breezy as our banter. Jodi’s humour and intelligence are as delightful in person as they are on the written page.
Kind Words from Jodi:
“As a master of the double blink, working with Caitlin was a dream. She has an easy confidence that is infectious, making you feel relaxed which removes any awkwardness felt when posing for pictures. Caitlin’s ingenious and creative approach results in an array of photographs of such high quality that it’s difficult to pick just one favourite. She goes beyond simply making you look good by determining with you a location that reflects your personality and the purpose of the photography session. I have now had two sessions of professional photographs for book covers and both times she ensured that our location was reflective of the book’s theme. This added greatly to the entire experience and each set of pictures are a perfect match for the book cover they adorn. I have now engaged Caitlin for family pictures, as I know she will capture the personalities of my teenagers, rather than simply taking stock photos. I highly, highly recommend Caitlin.”
